Re: Your first pair of “proper” trainers.
Also had Dunlop Green Flash but would not consider them trainers in the truest sense of word, more like superior plimsolls. First trainers were Gola Harriers, white with the Red markings, and I expect I am not alone in that amongst those of advancing years.

Re: Your first pair of “proper” trainers.
Converse Chuck Taylors - but they were really not proper anything by that point.

Converse Cons

cost me a whole lot of saved up pocket change, birthday money etc. - over 100$Can

Ad for why I wanted them

Mine were uglier though. I think these were the exact ones:

Loyal Converse kid except for Mizuno volleyball shoes for a lot of years; then switched to Reebok Iverson Answers - blue and gold - probably around '97/98. Still have a pair of Answers in storage, use to still play pick-up basketball with friends back home before I left.

Do white or black plimsoles from Pollards count :-) Think the first pair of actual trainers I had were from Woolworths! Old school fake adidas style If I remember!

Re: Your first pair of “proper” trainers.
Have always had Pumas until the last couple of years, Cruyff had Pumas...I would have Pumas.

First ones were the ones with the light blue strip that they're recently reissued after a few decades.

Nowadays buy On Running (most comfortable trainers I've ever come across) or the Karhu albatross 82 retros.

Re: Your first pair of “proper” trainers.
Mine were Puma match, loved em, parents could never afford Adidas, Diadora etc. I did get a pair of Green Flash later on when Burton were selling them, they did them in claret as well.

You can get away with wearing those shit trainers Block as no one looks at your feet, they are too busy looking at the size of your head.
